Public Places

Found in a wooded area behind the Veterans Memorial in Jackson, MS, this Pokeweed Berry Bush was literallythe only item of significant color in the area. In this photo, I am attempting to force your
attention to the subject by dialing back the highlighted areas on the outer edge.

At the Reservoir in Jackson, it is officially confirmed that the ducks prefer fresh bread to dried crumbs. I rose the contrast and vibrancy make the reflections appear more dynamic.

Also at the Reservoir, I was in the right place at the right time to snap a shot of what I assume to be a Blue Heron. Other than messing with the Sponge and Saturation, I consider myself lucky to have gotten this shot.

Joel Meyerowitz is another photographer who utilizes public spaces. Follow the LINK for more info on his work.
