Architecture

This small set is all about architecture; both physical and mental.

The Federal Building in Jackson is the first government building to be named after an African American. Dr. A.H. McCoy was a prominent dentist and business leader.

With a 30 second exposure, I tried to represent da Vinci's Virtruvian Man. The human architecture. I also used a pen light to show my spine.
The Madison County Courthouse and square were prominently featured in the 1996 movie A Time to Kill, adapted from the John Grisham novel.

People at Work

This set of photographs contains images of people performing jobs.

At Delta State University's annual Pig Pickin' BBQ Festival, a representative of Polk's Meats is seen grilling up some sausages to be sliced up and given away as samples.

The Delta State Cheerleader Squad are firing up the student body in preparation for a football game.

Outside of Goodman, MS, I received the opportunity to assist a group of like-minded people in cleaning up a stretch of highway that they adopted.

Mitchell Kanashkevich is a travel and documentary photographer. He has traveled the around world shooting personal projects and stock photos for Getty and Corbis Images. His work has been featured on covers and inside the pages of "Asian Geo Passport", "Capture", "Digital SLR Photography", and "Get Lost!".

Experimental Photography

This short series of photographs is all about experimentation.

The Countess
For this image I did not white balance. I wanted it to be a natural as possible without using a camera from 1910. In photo shop I lowered the vibrancy,  raised the saturation, and gave it an egg shell white (off white/yellow) hue.

 Drip Drop
Taken at an outdoor water fountain, this photo was an experiment in light and movement. It was captured at my highest shutter speed. In photo shop I raised the saturation, raised the vibrancy, and increased the reds.

Street lights
Taken in the historical Canton MS Square, this photo was originally the iconic roof lights and traffic lights of Canton. It now depicts an ever moving world of fantastic fluorescent creatures.

Kit Leonard is an experimental photographer in France exploring topics like age, self, and the human form. http://kitleonard.blogspot.com/

This image is by Katalina of DeviantArt.

Apparently there has been an outbreak of Listeria, a food born disease, within a patch of melons on a Colorado farm. If there have been deaths in Maryland and Texas, a college student in MS should be careful what he eats! Anyway, be it spinach or strawberries, I hope you enjoy this giveaway!

Animals and Nature

The title says it all! This set consists of shots of animals I found disposed and interesting.

The nature portion digital retake of a film photo I shot.
A macro shot of the side of a tree. The bark creates an
amazing pattern.

My grandmother's dog Sasha has always protected our family,
so I turned her in a Madonna.

I this small owl in my back yard, there was nothing nearby
for him to have flown into so I don't know what killed him.

Buzzard eating an opossum in the middle of the road. I don't
think the little guy made it.

The Lady with the Lantern

This set is focused on long exposures with light illustrations.

Colors and Patterns

The following images are demonstrations of colors and patterns in harmonious union.

Taken in woods near my dorm, I thought this tree was a great
example of the required subject.

A bamboo fence in the front yard of a resident of downtown
Cleveland, MS.

The stone roof of a dilapidated building in Shaw, MS.

A lonely flower among several dead and withered plants.
